It is now a reality. Though the vision tarry, wait for it said the old prophet. It has been more than four years since the Lord first instructed us to begin a 24 hour center of operation in New York City. The enemy fought against the vision, but the fullness of time has come on the first Sunday in the month of December in the year of our Lord two thousand and three. We are launching and proclaiming the beginning of the twenty-four (24 hours) Church in New York City. Victory at last and Glory be to God!

Many have asked the question: “How does it work?” or “How will it work?” In the Old Testament tabernacle, the Lord instructed His servants that the fire shall continually be burning upon the altar and that it shall not cease. In the temple ministry, from the days of Solomon to birth of Jesus Christ, there was a continual offering of sacrifices at the Lord’s Temple.

The people of Israel were instructed to divide the time into watches of the day and night. The apostle in the early Church practiced it for their benefit, in addition to house-to-house prayer. Peter and John performed a spectacular miracle on their way to the temple for prayer during the 4th watch of the day or 3pm in the afternoon. “Now Peter and John went together into the temple at the hour of prayer being the ninth hour.” Acts 3:1.

In obedience to the Lord for this very special ministry in New York City, we have followed the biblical pattern of dividing the twenty-four hours of the day into watches comprising of three hours. In this order, there are eight (8) watches for the day. A Pastor, Minister, Elder or Deacon according to ecclesiastical titles and ordination heads will cover each watch. The saints of God will voluntarily sign on according to their work schedule, remembering that in the New Testament revelation, all believers are priests unto the Lord their King.

Ministration during each watch will include worship, reading and sharing of the word of God, admonition, testimony, and laying on of hands. But the major part of the time will be spent in intercession for souls, for the salvation of the lost, and the effective advancement of God’s Kingdom on earth.

We are extending a special call to all intercessors around the city to join with us in around-the-clock prayer for the city and the nations for the glory of the Lord to be revealed in our generation.
